Five Boro Bike Tour

For 25 years, the New York Cycle Club has opens its arms once a year to the local cycling community by hosting Escape New York. Our annual end-of-summer “getaway” takes riders out of Manhattan via the George Washington Bridge to explore the beauty and history just across the Hudson River in Bergen County, NJ and Rockland County, NY.
We pride ourselves on our well-marked routes, turn-by-turn cue sheets, accurate GPS files, SAG vehicles, mechanical support at rest stops, and guidance by very friendly and helpful marshals stationed at several points on each route as well as roving marshals along the course.
All net proceeds from Escape New York benefit local charities in support of cycling and sport programs for youth from underserved communities.
Important Details

We ride rain or shine. No refunds or transfers for no shows.

Helmets are mandatory for all riders – No Exceptions!

Cue sheets will be available at the start, and GPS files will be available a few days prior to the event.

Your cue sheet will provide an emergency phone number.

All routes have Marshal and limited SAG support.

New Jersey Law requires SINGLE-FILE riding.

Along The Route
Rest Areas
We will jumpstart your ride with a breakfast that offers plenty of carbs and coffee courtesy of Cafe La Llave to get you going. Along the route, re-fuel and meet NYCC members at our well-stocked rest stops.
Toilets
Facilities are available at the start and finish and at each rest stop.
Bike Repair
We will have FREE mechanical support at the start and at each rest area to provide basic repairs.
Along The Route
Marshals
In case of a problem marshals will gently direct you along the route.
SAG (Support and Gear)
In the event you are unable to ride because of mechanical issues, our volunteer drivers will be available to transport you and your bike to one of our rest stops, which will have bike repair services.
Post-Ride Festival
After completing your ride, celebrate your accomplishment at our post-ride festival, featuring food, entertainment, and a raffle with exceptional prizes.
